ABD welcomed Government Officials and Business Leaders from China
On December 14, 2017, ABD International and Chester County welcomed a delegation of Chongqing Commerce Commission and Twin-river New District, Chongqing, China.
The delegation was in Chester County for further engagement and collaboration in business development and culture exchange between the regions of two countries. Sue Cheng, president of ABD International, together with Terence Farrell, the Commissioner of Chester County, and Michael Grigalonis, COO of Chester County Economic Development Council, arranged the visit and welcomed the Chinese friends.
The group of Chinese regional government officials and business leaders visited the Kendal-Crosslands Communities at Kennett Square and the Pocopson Home at West Chester, PA
The delegation also visited Penn Medicine at University Of Pennsylvania.
The two sides were very enthusiastic on working together on future projects in various areas.
ABD International organized another Chester County delegation’s visit to Chongqing, China
In May 2017, ABD International organized, again, another county delegation to Chongqing, China, to further promote business development and cultural exchange between China and the United States.
The US delegation visited Chongqing’s Yongchuan District, the sister municipality of Chester County. A deeper collaboration in mushroom cultivation business is being developed actively as a result of the visit.
The delegation also visited Yuzhong District, visited Chongqing 29th High School, the alma mater of ABD’s founder, Sue Cheng. As a result of this visit, an exchange program is being developed between the 29th High School and CCIU of Chester County.
The commissioner and every member of the delegation were very grateful to Yongchuan District and Yuzhong District for their warm reception!
A great appreciation goes to Mr. Li Qian, Director of Chongqing Commerce Committee and his team members for their supports to the Chester County delegation, and the cooperation between Chester and Chongqing on the mutually beneficial business development and cultural exchange to edit.
ABD International arranged Chongqing delegation visiting Chester County, PA
In October 2016, ABD International arranged a delegation, led by Jun Li, deputy governor of the district of Chongqing visiting Chester County, PA.
The delegation was in Chester County for further engagement and collaboration of international business development and culture exchange between the two areas.
This is the fourth inter-government event arranged and co-hosted by ABD International, with the first and third ones also in Chester County in 2013 and 2015, and second one held in Chongqing, China in 2014.
Commissioner Terence Farrell, the Chairman of Chester County Commissioners, Michael Grigalonis, COO of County Economic Development Council (CCEDC), and Sue Cheng, President of ABD International worked together, planned and arranged the Visit. County Commissioner Michelle Kichline has also joined for welcoming the YongChuan delegation.
During the visit, a business and cultural exchanging discussion session was held at the CCEDC office. Michael Grigalonis of CCEDC introduced the latest economic development in Chester County to the delegates. The featured speaker, Dr. Kirk Williard, Director of Career, Technical and Customized Education of Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) gave a presentation on the structure and features of the CCIU. The two sides were very enthusiastic on working together on future collaborations. Dr. Lu Han, China CTO of the Bentley Company also joined session and introduced the company to the guests and discussed ways of potential cooperations with businesses in Yongchuan
The delegation also visited the Mushroom Facilities at Kaolin Mushroom Farms/South Mill Mushroom Sales. Michael Pia, JR gave the delegates a tour of the facilities. There is a great potential for Yongchuan and the County to collaborate in Mushroom industry
2015 Sino-American Business Development and Culture Exchange Summit
On November 19, 2015, ABD International and Chester County welcomed a delegation headed by the Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Committee, of City of Chongqing, China, attending the 2015 Sino-American Business Development and Culture Exchange Summit.
This is the third conference arranged and co-hosted by ABD International, with the first one also in Chester County and second one held in Chongqing, China in 2014.
The conference on the 19th was attended by a group of locally based business and institution leaders as well as local government officials.
During the conference session held at the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC), County Commissioner Terence Farrell, CCEDC’s COO Michael Grigalonis and ABD International’s president Sue Cheng officially welcomed the Chinese delegates.
During the meeting at the CCEDC, Michael Grigalonis introduced latest economic development in Chester County to the Chinese conference attendees.
The featured speakers of the conference session at the CCEDC, Art Bernardon, Chairman of Bernardon architecture company, and Kerry R. Haber, Principal of the company, presented their new architecture design for a local senior living community, which the visiting Chinese government officials were very interested in, since China is facing an aging population, partially due to years of single child policy. The architecture firm also presented a plan for building a mushroom plant in China in supporting potential US mushroom growers to expend their business into China’s ever increasing market of mushroom business.
The Chinese delegate also visited CTDI, a Chester County based communication service company. The company provides services to large global companies and has already been doing business in China. During the visit, the Chinese visitors toured the CTDI state of art facility in West Chester, Chester County and learnt about their global businesses plans. Chairman & CEO of CTDI, Jerry Parsons, discussed the possibility of establishing a new branch office in Chongqing with the head of Commerce Department of Yuzhong District, Chongqing and other Chongqing government officials.

They discussed broad opportunities of business development and cultural exchanges, with focuses in products imports/exports between two municipalities of two countries, senior living services in China and college students, teacher exchanges, etc.

2014 Sino-America Business Development and Cultural Exchange Summit, Chongqing, China

Led by Terence Farrell, Chester County Commissioner and Sue Cheng, President of ABD International, the Chester County Delegation visited the Chongqing city government, Chongqing districts governments. Toured Chongqing businesses and educational institutes.
The group also visited Shanghai, hosted by Chinese businessman Pengfei Sun and Beijing and met with Chinese business leaders there and also US businesses operating in China.
First Sino-American Summit Completed Successfully 2013 Sino-American Business Development and Culture Exchange Summit The summit was hosted jointly by Chester County of Pennsylvania, Chester County Economic Development Council, Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, MLCCC and ABD International. The summit attracted many Chinese business leaders, American businesses and educational institutions. |
The conference featured many presentations by PA government officials, business leaders and elected officials. During the five days conference, the Chinese business leaders visited local Chester County businesses, colleges, research organizations, private schools.
There were also round table discussions, which saw great interests from the Chinese business leaders in investing and doing businesses at local Chester County region. The summit attendees participated in the Chester County International Day, hosted by CCEDC at the famous Longwood Garden.
Some of the summit attendees also visited MLCCC’s Chinese Weekend School, Chester City and City of Philadelphia.
